If you want practice working with people, modeling sites have many beginning models who will pose in exchange for copies of the images. Just be careful. Not all models are reliable (nor are all photographers for that matter.) And make sure you have an extra person to act as your assistant, which will also give you an extra voice if something goes wrong during the shoot. Also, act honorably - don't touch a model without express permission, and that is only to readjust hair. Let a female stylist rearrange clothing and such. This is just CYA (Cover Your A**) principles.
